Dressing Room Fitted Wardrobe - Tamworth
The Challenges
The dressing room space featured a striking raked corner – a beautiful architectural detail that adds charm and uniqueness to the property. However, this angled wall presented a significant challenge when it came to installing fitted furniture. Traditional layouts and standard cabinetry simply wouldn’t work within the irregular geometry of the space.
This dressing room serves as a walk-through between the main bedroom and the en suite – a compact area that needed to be both functional and aesthetically consistent with the surrounding interiors. The limited footprint risked feeling cramped or cluttered, and the flow between the two rooms had to remain open and effortless.
The client had an eye for interiors, as shown in their beautifully styled en suite and bedroom. The dressing room needed to match this level of taste while still packing in as much usable storage as possible. We were also tasked with incorporating both open display shelving and a dedicated dressing table – all without compromising on aesthetics.
The Successes
We embraced the angled wall by designing fully bespoke cabinetry that followed the exact rake of the room. By carefully tailoring the joinery to fit the unique lines of the space, we not only preserved the character of the property but enhanced it – turning a design obstacle into a feature. The result is seamless, made-to-measure furniture that feels natural within the room.
We focused on a layout that prioritised clean lines and circulation. By keeping furniture slimline in key areas and avoiding visual blockages, we preserved a sense of openness and movement. To enhance the feeling of space even further, we designed mirrored fretwork doors that reflect light and surroundings, adding both depth and elegance. These decorative mirrored surfaces brighten the room, draw the eye, and provide a beautiful, cohesive link to the rest of the home’s interior style.
We achieved this by carefully zoning the space: a thoughtfully positioned dressing table was integrated into the run of cabinetry, acting as both a practical workspace and a visual focal point. Open display shelving was subtly lit and styled, providing both beauty and accessibility. A standout feature is the bespoke dressing table mirror, custom-designed to echo the same fretwork pattern seen in the wardrobe doors – creating a seamless and elevated design language across the room. Clever internal storage solutions ensure the space remains elegant, organised, and beautifully in tune with the rest of the home.
